How to Use Reference Chat

Using Reference Chat is easy!

In the box to your left is the Meebo chat widget.

If it says “bwlibraryhelp is online” that means that the library is open and that there is a reference librarian at the reference desk ready to respond to your chat question.

There are two windows in the widget, one to type your question and the other to see our answer.

The small window that says “Type here and enter to send a private message” is where you type your question.

Just click in the small window, type your question, and then hit the enter key.

When you hit the enter key, your question shows up in the large window.

Wait, and hopefully you’ll soon see a reference librarian’s response in the large window below your question.

If bwlibraryhelp is offline, consult the box to the right for other ways you can seek an answer to your question.
