Government Sites:

• White House: primary website for executive branch, with news blogs, speeches, links to cabinet departments, etc.
• Office of Management and Budget: current and past budgets, factsheets, blogs, etc.
• USA.gov: A-Z index of U.S. government departments and agencies.
• U.S. Senate: Senators, committees, legislation, etc.
• U.S. House of Representatives: Representatives, committees, leadership, legislative resources, etc.
• Congressional Budget Office: wide variety of publications and cost estimates for programs covered by the federal budget.
• U.S. Department of Commerce: news, links to bureaus, etc.
• American Community Survey: detailed information on American people and workforce
• Bureau of Economic Analysis: various economic indicators.
• Bureau of Labor Statistics: statistics on inflation, prices, employment, unemployment, pay, and productivity.
• Consumer Expenditure Survey: provides information on the buying habits of America's consumers, includes data on expenditures, income, and consumer unit characteristics.
• U.S. Customs and Border Protection: Trade resources and publications.
• Data.census.gov: a platform to access data and digital content from the U.S. Census Bureau
• Data.census.gov - microdata analysis platform (replaces Dataferrett.com)
• ​Data.gov:  Home of the US Government's open data.
• Data USA: U.S. government statistics presented using data visualization.
• Economic Census:  aggregate data for U.S., can be filtered geographically by state, county, zipcode, MSA, CSA, etc.
• Economic Census - Geographic Area Series - Manufacturing: 2017 data, by state.
• Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland: serves the Fourth Federal Reserve District, which comprises Ohio, western Pennsylvania, eastern Kentucky, and the northern panhandle of West Virginia.

Securities and Exchange Commission Databases:

• EDGAR - Search and Access: SEC Filings - use this database to located financial information on publicly traded companies or to research investment opportunities.

Classification Systems:

• North American Industry Classification System (NAICS): The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is the standard used by Federal statistical agencies in classifying business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, and publishing statistical data related to the U.S. business economy.
• Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) System Search: This page allows the user to search the 1987 version SIC manual by keyword, to access descriptive information for a specified 2,3,4-digit SIC, and to examine the manual structure.
• HTS Online Reference Tool: By Chapter, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States.
• Standard International Trade Classification, Revision 4: SITC, Rev.4.

• Nobel Prize Laureates - Economics: Link to official Nobel prize site to locate laureates and their subject areas.
• American Economic Association: made up of academics and professionals, this association encourages economic research, especially the historical and statistical study of the actual conditions of industrial life.
• Atlas of Economic Complexity:  data visualization tool that allows people to explore global trade flows across markets
• National Bureau of Economic Research: a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization dedicated to promoting a greater understanding of how the economy works.
• World Economic Forum: provides reports on global risk and global competitiveness.
• EconPapers: provides access to RePEc, the world's largest collection of on-line Economics working papers, journal articles and software.
• Inomics: internet site for economists, includes job openings.
• RFE: Resources for Economists on the Internet: edited by Bill Goffe.
• EDIRC: Economics Departments, Institutes and Research Centers in the World.: index to economic institutions worldwide.
