Gregg Pelka, a 1982 B,W graduate, has spent the last decade as the Yellow Jackets' hitting coach. Under his instruction, the Jackets' offense has powered along at a .318 pace - including three of the top five season batting averages in team history and a record .494 slugging percentage in 1990.

Before coming to B-W, Coach Pelka served as an assistant 'Coach under Jerry Kindall at the University of Arizona (1984-85) and Bud Middaugh at the University of Michigan (1985-89).

For more than 15 years, Pelka has been one of the premier coaches. in Ohio amateur baseball. His Parma MSI Connie Mack teams have compiled a 747-253 (.747) record, making him the all-time winningest coach in MS! history. Under his leadership, MSI has won every league it has been a member of in the last 14 years and captured seven state championships, ten regional titles, and seven national tournaments. He has coached 43 players who have gone on to play professional ball.

Pelka, who holds a masters degree in communication from the University of Michigan, is a professor of broadcasting and interpersonal communication in B-W's Speech Communication Department. He is also the advisor for the campus radio station, WBWC.

Pemms is the organization for women's physical education majors and minors. Speakers reside over many meetings to tell of past experiences that arc to help these future teachers in their coming endeavors. Moore's sports equipment and sportswear were also exhibited for the women. Pemms strives to help these women become better physical education teachers.
