Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory was very fortunate in securing recognition from Mu Phi Epsilon. A local Conservatory Club had been in existence for one year when Mu Phi Epsilon granted a charter.
Mu Phi Epsilon was founded November 13, 1903, by Professor W. S. Sterling and Mrs. Elizabeth Mathias Fugua of Cincinnati, Ohio. The objectives of the sorority are the advancement of music in America and the development of the truest sisterhood. Mu Phi includes many of the musical celebrities of the world and is found only in colleges of very high standards. Chapters of Mu Phi are found in all parts of the United States. Some of the leading chapters are located at Ann Arbor, Michigan; Madison, Wisconsin; Cincinnati, Ohio (three chapters); Chicago, (three chapters).
The social and musical programs of Mu Phi have been especially gratifying. Besides regular musicales, the chapter sponsored dinners, bridge parties, and a valentine party. We are planning for various social functions in the future which develop good spirit and a stronger feeling of fellowship among the girls.
The twentieth National Convention of Mu Phi Epsilon will be held at Troutdale, Colorado, June 26-29, 1928, with Mu Rho Chapter as hostess. Here they will celebrate the Silver Anniversary of the Sorority. Mrs. Carl Schluer will represent Mu Phi Chapter of Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory at the convention. We are very fortunate in having Mrs. Schluer a member of our chapter. She was the leader in getting a chapter here, and it is an honor to have such a talented musician represent our organization.

Mu Phi Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon was organized on the Baldwin-Wallace campus and formally installed on February 26, 1926. This honorary musical sorority has as its objective the promotion of musicianship, scholarship, and friendship among students and graduates in the music departments of American colleges and schools of music.
During the past year, Mu Phi has enjoyed many pleasant social and educational functions and the alumnae chapter has co-operated with the active chapter in other projects of a similar nature, to make this year a highly successful one.
