Dr. Jim Timmer assists the Jackets' varsity squad as the team's infield coach and helps shape the future of the program as head coach Dr. Jim Timmer J.V. Head Coach of the junior varsity. Dr. Timmer came to B-W four years ago from the University of New Mexico, where he recently earned his doctorate degree in sports administration.

In addition to his baseball duties, he is an assistant. professor in the Men's Health and Physical Education Department and B-W's assistant basketball coach.

Coach-Timmer received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1990 from Calvin (Mich.) College where he excelled in both baseball and basketball. A four-year starter at shortstop, Timmer captained the baseball team for three seasons and earned All-Michigan lntercollegiate Athletic Association honors three times, including a first--team selection in 1987. He was also a three-year starter and-two-time All-MIAA selection for Calvin's basketball team, and began his coaching career as the squad's assistant coach during the 1990-91 season.

Coach Timmer ·is a member of the North American Society of Sports Management.
