Citation: Baldwin-Wallace College Nineteen Hundred & Ninety Eight Souvenir Base Ball Almanac (Berea, OH: Baldwin-Wallace College, 1998), p. 6.

Former B-W Pitching Star Dean Obrock is the Yellow Jackets' pitching coach, working intensively with the hurlers during pre-season winter practice and spring training. The 1997 season marks his 11th year on the staff.

During his playing clays, Coach Obrock posted a 17-9 record for the Brown & Gold and set career records by starting 29 games and completing 18 of them. He began his career by winning B-W's 1983 Outstanding Freshman award and finished it as the team's Outstanding Pitcher for 1986. During that season, he chalked up a school-record eight complete games on his way to a 7-3 record and a team-leading 40 strikeouts and 4.41 ERA. He was elected to the 1986 All-OAC First Team, the 1986 All-Mideast Regional Tournament Team, and the 1986 ABCA All-Mideast Region Second Team.
